Aeropostale's Daily Promotions, Product Mix Keep Sales Strong

Kaitlan Ott was psyched about the back-to-school bargains she found at Aeropostale's  (ARO)  Manhattan store last Friday.

The 11th grader bought a hooded sweat shirt, two shirts and a pair of sweat pants — all for less than $70. That was very cool, says Ott.

Aeropostale runs promotions daily. The teen chain piqued Ott's interest with a 50%-off sale on tops.

"I was using the money I earned at my job to buy clothes," said Ott. "I wanted to spend it wisely."
Once in the store, Ott found clothes that were cute and nicer than what she'd seen at other shops, she says.
Judging from Aeropostale's strong results Ott isn't the only one impressed with its threads.

Aeropostale has been a bright spot in today's dull retail climate. Sales have climbed at double-digit rates for 12 of the past 13 quarters.
